A Starter Conversation
This can be in person or via phone or email – it’s a mental kickstarter for our creative collaboration. What are you all about? Do you have some words or images in mind that you’d like me to take a look at? Is there a poem or a song lyric or a fortune cookie that got you to where you are today – planning one of the most meaningful milestones on your timeline?

A Styling + Event Design Proposal
I kick back to you a visual proposal with detailed notes, which can include as little or as much as you require. I usually include an overall arching design concept for your wedding or event, from invitations (either paper or digital) and other paper elements (programs, escort cards, name place cards, and menus), to floral design, the catering aesthetic, and various other artistic elements. We then refine this together, until we have a plan of action that we want to move forward with. My knowledge of and relationships with knowledgeable vendors (graphic designers, letterpress printers, flower farms, etc.), both local and further afield, is a key contribution to this process.

We Hit The Ground Running
Between our agreed upon budget and proposal and the event date I act as project manager for implementing the overall design and execution of your event aesthetic. I work closely with your event coordinator to put all of these elements into place, keeping you posted every step of the way.

The Moment Finally Arrives
I am on site from the minute day breaks to ensure that everything is implemented to suit the tailored vision of your event. At this point, your focus should be on enjoying the experience. Your work is done, it’s down to your support team.

The Pen & Anchor provides complete design, styling and décor services.

I have a keen eye for what works, visually; I love to listen to people’s stories, and I am in love with the Pacific Northwest. I truly thrive on bringing all of this together when working as a stylist. I want to go beyond what you see on the pages of Pinterest. I want to bring your tastes and experiences into the picture; bring all of the separate components together to make a whole. I completely understand how much one can get “frazzled” when planning something that is so important to you - events sometimes take professionals to help you give them meaning and elevate their aesthetic. I am here to make your life as easy as possible – before, during and after the event.

My approach is collaborative – both with my clients – and with the wedding and event vendors that I already have relationships in place with – from floral design to photography to catering - some of whom are the brightest and most talented folk I know. Regular creative discussions take place with each vendor, and it’s down to me to keep my clients and their coordinators informed. Consistent communication with all other professionals working on event, in order to adhere to budget and timeline, is a key component of my role in the overall process.
